I met Leo Boer’s disinherited son, who lives in Australia, at the wedding of Leo Boer and Luna Vermeulen on 11 November 2017 in Montpellier, Tulbagh, South Africa. He apparently knew I was an investigative journalist and author, and wanted to tell me his story. But he got no farther than this:

“My father is not the person you think he is.”

Always interesting to know! So I asked his female companion:

“Do you know anything about it?”

“No, not really”, answered the woman, who was Vietnamese in appearance. “I haven’t known him that long.”

“Oh?” I answered, a question in my eyes.

“I met him a few days ago in a bar. He asked me to come to South Africa.”

“So you don’t know anyone here?”

“No. I was invited and got tickets from his father”.

“So Leo Boer paid for the plane tickets from Australia to South Africa?”

She nodded. “And back via Vietnam.”

I was aghast. Suddenly I could understand Leo Boer’s story about his son Nabod’s fake tile factory much better. You had better get comfortable, because this is quite a story.

The conversation below took place in early October 2014 in the house of Leo Boer in Saldanha, 20 kilometres from where I lived from April 2003 and March 2018. Luna was rather miffed because her dearest love, Leo Boer, had thrown away so much money on his son. Over the years he sent his son in Australia hundreds of thousands of euros, bought him a house in Sliedrecht which Nabod immediately sold off, and in Australia bought him a glass-bottomed boat and even a restaurant. And now Nabod wanted more money to buy a tile factory.

“Leo, you’re being conned. Nabod is milking you like a cow. I tell you what. For your birthday on 29 October I’ll give you a trip to Australia. We’ll go visit Nabod and see what kind of business he’s setting up.”

The couple landed in Perth and asked if Nabod would pick them up from the airport.

“No time”, was the answer.

Leo and Luna hired a camper and drove to see Nabod, who was kind enough to book a hotel for them. They registered at the hotel and got a message that Nabod would like to meet them at a certain place. They drove to the address and it turned out to be a bar. There sits Nabod with 15 other people who were completely full of beer. He offered to treat everyone in the bar to food and drink, and when Luna asked how long he had known these so-called friends, the answer was easy to guess—“Just met them.”

He said, “They were sitting in the bar when I got here. And now we’re all the best of friends.”

Luna was angry because she was stuck with the bill, and left with Leo for the hotel. Nabod showed up there late in the evening with a friend and three women and lots of booze. They turned on the radio and cranked the volume to 10. Leo and Luna tried to hustle the five out the door, but were pushed aside. They heard pounding on the wall. Then more pounding. Then the owner of the hotel burst in, furious, and pulled the radio out of the wall. After a couple of hours, the unwelcome guests stumbled out, dead drunk.

The next morning Leo and Luna were ejected from the hotel for the nuisance. They only got to see Nabod briefly after that. From the conversation that followed, it emerged that he had no house and no business plan, and the tile factory was only a fantasy.

In the past, I mentioned the book Centen Graaien (Money Grubbing). It’s all about fraudulent practices in the Netherlands: swindlers, bamboozlers, victims, and the failures of politics. The stories I’m writing about now fit in perfectly there. Did you know that every year in the Netherlands, hundreds of private individuals and companies are taken for a ride by swindlers and bamboozlers? Sometimes it’s a matter of a few hundred euros, and sometimes thousands or millions. Charming and well-spoken con men think they have a right to do what they want. For instance, Frederik thinks he has the right to spout the most brazen nonsense under oath. His lawyer finds it perfectly natural to use the nonsense cooked up by Nabod as evidence against Luna Vermeulen. And Nabod thinks he should harvest as much money as possible from his father. The justice system just looks on helplessly. And lawyers work for the highest bidders: they charge by the hour. The bag of tricks is practically limitless. Seizure of property is the most common weapon.

Now that you know what kind of person Nabod is, I’ll tell you about his quest to capture Leo Boer’s estate. It started in August 2020, right after Leo Boer’s cremation.

The aim was to work together with Frederik, a former mayor, a lawyer, and the Netherlands Forensic Investigation Bureau (NFO) to prove that the signature on Leo Boer’s will was forged by Luna Vermeulen.

The police intercepted a considerable string of Whatsapp messages between Nabod and Frederik. They started off by calculating how big the prize would be.

Frederik to Nabod, 3 August 2020:

My rough estimate of his properties

Lot on Industrieweg, appraised 2018 at 6.5

Lot at Het Plaatje 6 – 7 million

Buildings, docks, tugboat, Barracuda, and goodwill 2 – 3

Total 15 million so at least 25% of that

But if signature is forged, then everything

I’ll say a little prayer for you tonight

4 minutes later, this was added:

There are a few push barges in SWB Shipping, including a new one

He had a 50% ownership in that one

The barges are leased out

Another 4 minutes later, another addition:

Via Hans

Finally, Nabod to Frederik:

And I will pay for your new ipad. Don’t worry, I will give you the golden handshake you deserve. Money isn’t the main thing for me. I have divided up the boat already (editor’s note: Leo Boer’s yacht Barracuda, inherited by Luna Vermeulen). Your family and friends are the driving force behind this, because without you I would not have started this process.

Frederik to Nabod on 10 August 2020:

Dear [disinherited son], your dad also has a safety deposit box at Rabobank on Stationsweg. Make sure that cow doesn’t go empty it out. It’s that bitch’s birthday today. Hope she drops dead.

Frederik to Nabod on 10 August 2020

Frederik to Nabod, 11 August 2020

Maybe with M./E.B. He also had money from A.

I had to stop and think about that one. The circle of swindlers was growing ever larger. Who were M. and M.B., and what role did they have in this circus?

M. is already working for you

It looks like there’s something from your dad, but she has to go see E.

W.B. is home, will also have a look.

Now there’s a W.B. in it as well. Is “half Sliedrecht” in the conspiracy?

M. called. Going to E. in the morning. Folder contains documents with original signatures. She will forward these to you.

I asked the former mayor, who will send me 4 documents with date and signature, if necessary by post. Then I will post them to L. Ask if this is necessary. No news about the civil-law notary here, so call me tomorrow morning.

Here we see the collusion of the former mayor, a certain E. and L. in the conspiracy against Luna Vermeulen. Can it get any crazier?

On 11 August, the NFO reported that they were not finished; they needed more signatures.

From Nabod to Frederik, 16 August 2020

No, they want 2018 and 2019, and we don’t have those

For those who don’t speak conspiracy jargon, on the request of NFO the swindlers were looking for Leo Boer’s signature on official, dated documents. They searched like crazy. They wanted to prove that the signature on Leo Boer’s will was forged.

Good morning. Do you think it’s possible to get a signature dated 2018 or 2019 from lawyer K at short notice? It would be a huge help to us. Let me know. Frederik.

They wanted to prove that the signature on Leo Boer’s will was forged

Frederik said ‘jump’ and the former mayor said ‘how high?’

From former mayor to Frederik, 11 August 2020

These are the signatures. Let me know if that’s what you needed. And you know: At your service! Greetings.

Answer:

This one on Vastgoed letterhead is fake. I did that one.

What?? Frederik is saying he forged Leo Boer’s signature? How long has this fraud been going on?!

From former mayor:

Get rid of it fast and always use the wording “in his absence” or “on his behalf”. Greetings.

Here, once again, we see the collaboration of the former mayor. Sad, incredibly sad that the swindle goes up to such a high level.

After which Nabod wrote:

Okay Team thanks, that should be enough, there are now ten with dates and signatures

After which Nabod wrote
And the response

The former mayor also chipped in:

Hi hi, I will ask Mitchel to look and see if there are any signatures from 2018/2019 available. We might have them. But why would a signature from 2016 not be okay? Did he change his signature in 2018? Just let them prove it, I would say.

Have a good weekend!

Greetings,

Myrella

Then, on 14 August, the letter from the lawyer arrived saying that NFO could not prove that the signature on the will was forged.

on 14 August, the letter from the lawyer arrived saying that NFO could not prove that the signature on the will was forged

Dear Leo,

Below is an e-mail from the NFO dated 14 August 2020 stating the preliminary conclusion. The handwriting expert also gave explanations by telephone regarding the e-mail below.

As you will read, the handwriting expert comes to the preliminary conclusion that on the basis of the current documents, it cannot be proved that the signature on the will is forged. He attributes the differences to age and/or illness. To conclude that this is a forged signature on a notarial document, he must have compelling arguments.

The handwriting expert has indicated that he is willing to continue the investigation. Therefore, the handwriting expert would like to receive more signatures from the years 2018 and 2019. Do you or does someone you know have access to these signatures?

Kind regards,

Sophie Vermeule

Frederik saw the chances of proving a forged signature on Leo Boer’s will fading fast, so he launched another attack on Luna Vermeulen from a different angle:

I don’t have 2018-2019 anymore

It looks like this is going to be a lengthy case and maybe can’t be proven

Worth considering—it’s my opinion that the other facts we now have should be gone into more deeply, e.g. prenuptial agreement, fraud with the barracuda, Triton and other matters including death certificate

But does a prenuptial agreement take precedence over a will (whether or not correct)?

Looks to me like lawyers need to get busy. Also file a civil-law notary complaint?

Dear Leo

We got some advice today about signatures from 2018 and 2019

Understandably, they don’t want to give these out to indirectly connected parties

I got this advice:

Let your lawyers send a letter/e-mail to civil-law notary Koppelaar in Sliedrecht on your behalf as the heir

When you do this, explain that there is reasonable doubt about the signature on the will and mention that the Ned. Forensic Inst. has asked for these signatures.

Also mention in this letter/e-mail that Sr. was married under a prenuptial agreement

If the civil-law notary is convinced of the honest intentions of an heir, he may also ask the lawyers to observe confidentiality, understandable

But if you ask yourself, you won’t get anything

In 2018 and 2019 the civil-law notary Koppelaar did a whole lot of business for your father, so chances are good

Also, if it comes to a lawsuit the court will see that everything on your side was handled honestly and with integrity

I CC’ed your lawyer Lucienne, so the ball’s in your court to see if she thinks this is the way to go.

Yours,

Judas

Ultimately the lawyers asked the civil-law notary for signatures of Leo Boer, but it came to nothing. See the request below:

Ultimately the lawyers asked the civil-law notary for signatures of Leo Boer, but it came to nothing. See the request below

Dear Mr N.P. Papaioannou,

Mr M.L. Boer (hereafter: my client) came to me requesting legal counsel. My client is the son of the late Mr Leendert Jan Boer (hereafter: the testator). The testator died on 5 June 2020 in Cologne, Germany.

My client has a reasonable doubt about the authenticity of the signature of the testator on the will. An investigation into this signature is being conducted by the Nederlands Forensisch Onderzoeksbureau (hereafter: NFO).

In connection with the above investigation, the NFO’s handwriting expert has requested more material for comparison from the years 2018 and 2019. Unfortunately, my client does not have any more signatures other than the ones he has already submitted.

My client indicated that Mr Koppelaar had done some notarial work for the testator. Mr Koppelaar would have been involved in the establishment of a new business by the testator in 2018 or 2019. Mr Koppelaar also apparently drew up a notarial deed in connection with the sale of the land belonging to Cape Global Holding B.V. in 2018 or 2019. The signature of the testator may be on these notarial documents.

My question, therefore is twofold: does your civil-law notary’s office have signatures by the testator in your possession, and would you be willing to share these with my client? If you are willing to share these signed documents, it is important that the documents should be dated.

Thank you for your consideration of this matter.

The “Team” lost the money game. Then they went in search of other possibilities for getting their hands on the money and humiliating Luna Vermeulen, whom they hated heart and soul.
